Director of Business Development

We are seeking a growth and results-driven Director of Business Development (Director of BD). The Director of BD will be responsible for developing strategic industry connections and relationships to enhance customer acquisition, drive revenue growth, and strengthen client retention. The Director of BD should have an entrepreneurial spirit, be hands-on, highly collaborative, data-driven, and passionate about bringing change to the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue strategy aligned with RENFROE’s vision, mission, and business objectives. Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities, entrepreneurial opportunities, and go-to-market strategies and formulate action plans accordingly
  • Lead business development to identify, pursue, and secure new business and channel development opportunities. Cultivate strategic partnerships and collaborations to expand RENFROE’s reach and market share
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish competitive pricing models, negotiate contracts with clients, and develop an effective resource compensation strategy, ensuring the company’s profitability and long-term sustainability
  • Develop revenue forecasting models and reporting mechanisms in collaboration with finance to provide accurate and timely insights into revenue performance. Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Stay current on insurance industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge. Utilize this knowledge to make recommendations and guide innovation
  • Champion excellent cross-department communication, cooperation, and support

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 10+ years of implementing revenue growth strategies with a deep intellectual interest in changing an industry that has evolved marginally throughout history.
  • Proven track record of driving sales and partnerships within the insurance industry technology or services
  • Entrepreneurial mindset embraces change and capable of fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Strong relationships across the insurance, federal programs, and insure-tech markets with the ability to network with executives with companies of all sizes
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, market dynamics, and customer needs in the industry
  • Data-driven decision-making abilities, with a proficiency in analyzing financial and sales data to drive performance improvements
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is strongly preferred
