Product Owner, Mobile

The Product Owner, Mobile, serves as the primary conduit between the business units and engineering, focusing on delivering value in an emerging agile environment with a recently launched mobile platform. The Product Owner, Mobile, will act as an independent decision maker directing the work related to analysis, development, and testing resources of a given agile team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Product Management in translating high-level vision & strategy into an actional product plan specific to the mobile platform
  • Identify project scope utilizing industry best practices and document requirements while maintaining an agile mindset
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and QA, to deliver high-quality product increments in each sprint
  • Provide assigned team(s) with an in-depth understanding of business requirements and needs
  • Make trade-off decisions between scope and schedule to optimize the delivery of value
  • Create and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is prioritized and aligned with the overall product strategy
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify product improvements and analyze needs & trends
  • Effectively manage competing priorities from various stakeholders, specifically external mobile users and internal operations
  • Gather continuous feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously iterate and improve
  • Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions
  • Mitigate roadblocks to achieve sprint & release goals

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent
  • Five+ years experience in a software development organization
  • Two+ years’ proven experience as a Product Owner for a mobile platform
  • Experience managing internal use of software platforms & stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile best practices focused on the Scrum framework
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Jira & Confluence is a plus
  • Knowledge of claims management or operations processes is a plus
